Grace Classical Academy exists to glorify God by cultivating truth, goodness, and beauty through a Christ-centered classical education, equipping students to bless those around them.

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God".  Hebrews 12:1-3

A Message from our
Head of School

Cadia Parks

As we close out the first quarter, I am filled with gratitude for all that God is doing in and through our students. It has been such a blessing to watch them grow—academically, spiritually, and in character. The energy on campus has been wonderful as we celebrated Grandparents Day, enjoyed many learning successes, and began our Pillars of Character program, focusing this month on Trustworthiness.
I am so proud of the effort and heart our staff and students have shown!

I am also very excited to see our Church Ambassador Program continue to grow. Building stronger connections with local churches and becoming more involved in our community is such an important part of our mission, and I look forward to the many ways God will use these relationships to bless our students and families.

Q: What made you become a teacher?

A: I've always loved children. When my girls started school, I decided to go with them. God opened the door for me (a new Christian) to teach Pre-K at a Christian school.

Q: If you weren't teaching, what career would you have pursued?

A: If I wasn't a teacher or a mom, I would have become a retail buyer (probably for Neiman Marcus).

Q: Do you have a favorite book or author you always recommend?

A: My favorite book is the Bible. I let the students know that I'm teaching them to read, so they can one day read the Bible also.

Q: What hobby or activity helps you recharge outside of school?

A: I love going to the beach, paddle boarding, boating, taking hikes and spending time with my family and God. I really enjoy praying for my students, friends and family.

Q: What has God taught you over the years that has helped you to be the best possible teacher to your students?

A: God has really shown me that He has created all of my students. He loves them and I need to love them as He does. I enjoy planting His seeds and watching them grow! I have been so blessed throughout the years.

Q: If you could instantly learn a new skill, what would it be?

A: Cooking like a pro or travel survival.

Q: What hobby or activity helps you recharge outside of school?

A: Some of my favorite activities that help me recharge are napping, hanging out with friends, relaxing at the pool or going to the beach for sunset.

Q: What is the funniest or most memorable thing a student has ever done in your class?

A: A funny moment that comes to mind was when students thought a childhood photo of me shown during Assembly was Mr. Estes!

Q: What's one way you've seen God answer prayer in your classroom?

A: When a student finally "gets it" after struggling.

Q: What's the biggest way your faith shapes your teaching style?

A: Faith shapes my teaching style by guiding me to see each student as uniquely created. Faith also helps me to teach with love, patience and understanding.

Grandparent's Day

This past month we continued the great event of hosting all of GCA's wonderful grandparents. This year, GCA had over 100 grandparents RSVP as the event was spread out over three sessions. Our grandparents were able to watch recitations, eat goodies donated by our PTO and families, and take a look at classwork and projects by our students. It truly is a memorable event that we hope continues for years to come.

Community Outreach

On Friday, October 3, the seventh grade class helped the Literacy Gulf Coast Center of Bonita Springs with their annual fundraiser. Students sold snacks, passed out bingo cards, and even got to participate in the fundraiser, with Micah Johnson winning two gift cards! It was a wonderful opportunity for them to serve the community and find out about future volunteer opportunities. Hopefully, someday in the future, they may return to teach English and citizenship classes!

We are 46% towards our goal! Please make sure to sign up before October 26th deadline!

We are still looking for a few top tier sponsorships for this event.

Please reach out to anyone you might know who may be interested and reach out to [email protected].

As mentioned in last month's newsletter, we have begun to partner more directly with churches in the surrounding area. GCA is excited to announce we have had three churches become ambassadors in the past month.

Thank you to:

Now that this program is underway, we will begin to set up gatherings to allow for back and forth between us and our ambassadors to see not only how our churches can support GCA, but also how we can support our ambassador churches.

If you are interested in becoming an ambassador for your church or know someone who could serve in that role, please reach out to [email protected].

The ART Corner

This month called for a few celebrations of our Secret Students in art! Congrats to Jeffrey in Kindergarten, Luca in 1st, and Ethan in 2nd grade for earning rewards for their whole class! First grade got a treat and made sea turtles from Model Magic (picture to the left). For the classes that didn't earn the reward, they are doing a better job of encouraging and reminding each other to be the light of Jesus in their classes, as no one, except for Ms. Acs, knows who this month's Secret Student is.

Left: A BIG THANK YOU to local artist Lisa Morency for this gorgeous painting she donated to our gala entitled Light of the World.

Kindergarten had so much fun learning about the elements of art and then creatively writing their names using them. Check out Emily's above.
