Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him; bless His name!

Psalm 100:4

A Message from our
Head of School

Cadia Parks

November is here, and with it comes one of the most joyful and meaningful times of the year!

As we head into the holiday season, our school is buzzing with excitement and gratitude. This month, our students and staff are embracing the spirit of giving through a variety of activities—classroom celebrations, performances, and community service projects that remind us of what it means to care for one another.

We’re so proud of how our school community comes together to support local causes, lend a helping hand, and spread kindness. From Treats for Troops and Operation Christmas Child, there are so many ways for everyone to get involved and make a difference.

As we count down the days to Thanksgiving and the winter holidays, let’s take a moment to appreciate the joy, generosity, and togetherness that make this season so special. A special thanks to the staff and parent volunteers for all you do to make GCA such a warm and vibrant place to learn and grow!

May God bless you all this November!

Q: What is your favorite book or movie you love to read or rewatch over and over again?

A: Father of the Bride

Q: If you could take your class on a field trip anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

A: I think it would be so fun to go to Hawaii because of our beach theme in our

classroom and to see all the different animals and sights to see.

Q: If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be and why?

A: Jesus, because I can ask him all my questions and be in His presence.

Q: How do you intentionally weave faith into your lessons or classroom culture?

A: I would say every opportunity I get to bring Jesus into what we are learning, I always

do. At the beginning of the year, we established a classroom promise that is centered

around Christlike love for one another. I am able to emphasize those promises

throughout the day for them to reflect. At this point in the year, my students are now

bringing the Lord into everything we're learning, and it brings me so much joy!

Q: What is something the Lord has been teaching you lately?

A: The Lord has been teaching me trust and patience as I am doing a lot of new things

with a lot of change. He has been so good in every season, and I am so excited to see

Him grow me even more!

Q: As we approach the holiday season, what is your go-to holiday comfort food?

A: I love mashed potatoes, that is one of my favorite Thanksgiving foods, and my uncle makes the best. When it comes to Christmas, I love making Christmas cookies and eating them with my family.

Q: If you weren’t a teacher, what profession might you have chosen?

A: If I wasn’t a teacher, I think I would love to be an event planner. I love planning parties or other events for others, it is so much fun!

Q: What is a funny or memorable moment from your teaching career?

A: I would say one of the most memorable moments from my teaching career is when I led one of my students to Christ. A pastor spoke at assembly that day and my student asked me about the gift that the pastor was talking about. So we talked about eternal life and what that means. He felt comfortable enough to talk to me about it and it was truly a surreal moment being used by the Lord to welcome another son into His kingdom. It is a moment that I will never forget. It is such a blessing to be able to see the little seeds we teachers plant.

Q: What is one way you experience God’s presence during your school day?

A: I experience God’s presence in the morning before my day begins. I have been reading the book of Psalms and it's been really good. I love teaching the Bible and when I am teaching my students a Bible story, it always speaks to me which is also how I feel the Lord’s presence.

Q: What is a Bible verse you turn to when you need encouragement?

A: I turn to Psalm 23 where it talks about the Lord being our Good Shepherd which encourages me greatly when I am in need of a reminder of His power and how much He cares for me

3rd Annual Golf Scramble

We met out goal! Thank you to all those who participated and to all of our donors! What a fun day it was to gather and enjoy the beautiful weather the Lord blessed us with. This year's event had the most teams and hole sponsors ever at a GCA golf event. What a day!

Community Outreach

GCA participated in two very special events this past month. At the beginning of November, GCA was able to partner with the local Blue Star Mothers of America chapter and donate their halloween candy to our brave and courageous troops. What a unique way to love on our real life heroes!

And then GCA was able to partner with New Life Church to assemble Christmas boxes for the well known Operation Christmas Child alongside Samaritan's Purse. What a great way to start off the holiday season right by showing the love of Jesus to children and families around the world.

The ART Corner

Our middle school art class finished some beautiful Japanese paper lanterns this month while we learned about our role in redeeming art for Christ. Sari's landscape featured below, with the lit road to the glowing cross, included a wonderful verse, Psalm 121:1-2. "I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth." As we head into a busy season, may we remember where our focus remains.
