As we close another school year, I am grateful for the many ways God has blessed our school community. This year has been filled with academic achievement, spiritual growth, meaningful service, and opportunities for students to develop their God-given gifts and talents. None of this would be possible without the support, prayers, and partnership of our families, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and friends. Thank you for investing in the mission of Christian education and helping us equip students to grow in faith, character, and knowledge. As summer begins, I pray that God grants each of you a season of rest, renewal, and joy. May your days be filled with His peace and blessings, and we look forward to all that He has in store for the coming year.

Q: What is your favorite season and why?

That depends on where I am in the world. Fall in the mountains is breathtaking. Summer in the British countryside is magical. Any weather that allows me to be outside and explore is the season for me. 

Q: What is your go-to comfort food?

I’m very much a snacky person, and I usually go for a salty snack like salt-and-vinegar chips, but my go-to sweet treats are rice crispies and cinnamon rolls. Both have the perfect amount of sweetness. A comfort meal is a simple family recipe we call “macaroni and tomatoes,” even though we use shell pasta. It’s just a simple tomato sauce with onions and smoky kielbasa. I usually dose it in a vinegar-based hot sauce, too, which helps to cool it down so I can eat it sooner. Plus, it adds some extra tang. All together, it tastes like home. 

Q: What would students be surprised to learn about you?

Students might be surprised to learn that I can be quite a silly, and sometimes sarcastic, person. Stick around me long enough and some of my goofiness will come out. I think that's why I fit in so well with middle schoolers. 

Q: What do you love most about teaching at a Christian School?

I love teaching at a Christian school because everything we do can act as worship to God, whether students are actively reading Scripture or simply enjoying the act of learning. As Christian educators, we have the unique calling to provide opportunities for our students to live into whom God created them to be as his image bearers. What a joyful yet heavy calling!

Q: What is your favorite Bible story and why?

The story of Jacob always strikes a chord. Throughout his life, Jacob sought to manipulate God's blessings only to realize that God asks for full surrender. Despite Jacob struggling with God and grasping tightly to everything he wanted, it ultimately was God who was holding Jacob fast. I need this reminder daily.

Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show?

I struggle to pick favorites.  What I watch depends so heavily on what sort of mood I'm in or want to be in.  But generally speaking, a genre that I can always rely on is a classic late 90s or early 2000s rom-com.  I love the happy endings and the light hearted comedy.  Give me Sweet Home Alabama, 27 Dresses or How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days any day and I'll be content.

Q: What hobby do you enjoy the most outside of school?

I love gardening and tending to my houseplants.  Growing up in the midwest we had a very short time where we could be outside in the garden, I love that in Florida things grow all year.  It is therapeutic for me to have my hands in the dirt.

Q: If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

I have always wanted to travel to Australia.  I'm fascinated by the ecosystem and the landforms.  

Q: What does Christian education mean to you?

Well, this is a big question.  Philosophically, Christian Education to me means seeing God's thumbprint on everything we learn and striving to model ourselves after Christ.  It is a lens through which we explore the world around us; literature, math, science, history, knowing that all things were created and ordered by Him.

As a parent it means everything to me for my children to be learning in a Christ centered environment.  It brings me peace knowing that my kids are being pointed back to the Biblical truths that we value as a family.  

Q: What Bible verse encourages you most right now?

Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

This is a verse that I go back to time and again because it helps me to remember my place and God's place.  I tend to like to feel in control.  Along with that I can tend to be so busy that I forget to listen and wait on God.  This verse is one I am especially drawn to in times of transition because it helps me to quiet my mind, focus on God and trust that His will will be done because he is in control.

SCHOOL IS OUT FOR SUMMER!!

This past month GCA was able to participate in the National Day of Prayer service that took place at First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs. How beautiful it was to partner with one of our Ambassador churches and prayer for our country and the world. 

So proud of our 5th grade and 8th grade graduates! They have all come so far academically and it has been such a blessing to see them grow in Jesus!

The middle school put on a fantastic rendition of the Wizard of Oz. Another great performance put on by our Drama department!

Our Kindergarten through 2nd Grade closed out the school year with CAMP READ A-LOT. This is an annual tradition at GCA for the last week of school. What a fun way to encourage reading as we wind down the school year. 

Come Join us for our 4th annual golf scramble! It is on October 10, 2026 at Stonebridge Country Club in Naples Florida. Ticket sales and sponsorships to open up on June 15th, with early bird specials open during the summer. Hope to see you all there! Look out for further communications throughout our social media over the summer months!

What a great picture that shows only a part of the impact that Mrs. Hartley has had on the lives of students. She has been such a servant during her time at GCA and for her entire teaching career. It takes a very special individual to be able to welcome a new batch of Kindergarten student's each and every year, and she is truly that! She will be heavily missed and we are so proud to say that she was our teacher at GCA. God Bless you Mrs. Hartley! You have blessed us all so much! 

We continue to be thankful for our current church ambassadors from: 

First Presbyterian Church, Summit Church Estero, Turning Point Church, and Center Point Community Church. 

They have been so helpful in promoting our events and most importantly our students.
