GCA endorses a uniform code based on Biblical principles: 1. Being overly concerned with clothing and outward appearances is contrary to God’s will for us as revealed in Scripture (1 Samuel 16:7; Matthew 6:19-21; James 4:4, 1 John 2:15-17). 2. Clothing should be modest and not draw attention to the individual (1 Timothy 2:9). Our children are serving as ambassadors and witnesses both for the Lord Jesus Christ and GCA. Student appearance is a reflection of both. Students’ dress must be modest and tidy at all times.

The uniform will consist of:

Tops

Any color blue or gray collared polo shirt with the GCA logo. Shirts need to be tucked in. All shirts must have a GCA logo. It can be embroidered with French Toast, or you can take your purchased polos to be embroidered at Instant Imprints in Bonita (24830 S Tamiami Trl #1300, Bonita Springs, FL 34134). A GCA spirit t-shirt may be worn on PE days as well as Fridays.

Bottoms

Must be solid navy blue, gray or black pants, shorts or skorts – Bottoms must be Chino style material. Bottoms must fit well and be fingertip length. No cargo pants/shorts or leggings.

On P.E. days, you may wear the gym shorts only from our French Toast school store with the GCA logo on them or regular uniform bottoms.  A GCA spirit t-shirt may be worn on PE days.

Dresses and Jumpers

Solid navy blue or gray & blue plaid. Hemline must be modest (fingertip length). The hemline being closer to the knee is preferable. Athletic type shorts (soffe shorts) should be worn under dresses and skirts. Solid navy blue or black leggings may be worn under a skirt or dress.

Outerwear

Solid navy, white or gray button cardigan style sweaters may be worn with the student’s uniform shirt underneath.  Sweaters can be embroidered with the GCA Logo (does not need to be). However, pull-over and zipper hoodies, as well as crewneck sweatshirts, may be worn ONLY if it has the GCA Logo embroidered on it. Upper-school (6th-8th grade) students may wear hoodies with college logos or scripture.

Shoes

Closed toed shoes that cover the entire foot must be worn. Athletic shoes are preferred and must be worn for PE. No flip flops, crocs or heelies.

Friday T-Shirt and Jeans Day

Students may wear a GCA t-shirt on Friday.  These t-shirts can be purchased in the school office.  In addition, as a fund-raiser for the school, students can wear jeans on Friday.  Jeans should be modest and not excessively ripped or torn.

Casual Dress Days

GCA will occasionally allow for casual dress or special dress days (team jersey day, American pride day, etc.) as a reward for students who otherwise follow the dress code.  Please remember that no matter what – all dress is to be modest and tidy (bottoms must fit well and be fingertip length). GCA t-shirts should only be worn to school on designated days but you are welcome to wear them outside of school.

Uniform Violations

Parents are required to monitor their child’s dress before he or she comes to school in the morning on both uniform days and casual dress days. Please do not allow your child to wear immodest, torn, or otherwise inappropriate clothing to school. Students not complying with the dress code will be required to rectify their appearance immediately. Parents will be called and asked to bring uniform clothes to school for the student to change into. Students who violate the dress code continuously will be subject to disciplinary action
